at Piazza Grande

The famous Piazza Grande is the vibrant heart of Locarno. This marvelous square with its historical buildings, ancient cobble-stone pavement, little shops, restaurants and gelaterias will remind you of the traditional Italian old town. Numerous open-air concerts are held at Piazza Grande. The weekly market takes place here. In July the famous music festival „Moon and Stars” invites its guests to the square. In August many cinema celebrities come to Piazza Grande to participate at the international film festival – one of the most important film festivals in the world.
